Hans de Wit: Amor Mundi at Cacao Fabriek, Netherlands

Open at Cacao Fabriek in Helmand, Netherlands from 18th August to 28th September 2025, Amor Mundi features work by Marijn Dijkmeijer, Stijn Peeters, Jeanine Vloemans, and Hans de Wit. In Hannah Arendt’s Denktagebuch (or ‘Thinking journal’) there’s a short entry on “Amor mundi — warum ist es so schwer, die Welt zu lieben?” “Love of the world — why is it so difficult to love the world?”

A series of large and small scale drawings by Hans de Wit are on display, paired with a soundscape he composed himself. Each of DeWit's drawings is an attempt to project the past into the future. He combines the visualization of technological representations with manual constructions and natural growth processes.
